1st Class Sheet Metal Mechanic

Purpose :

Colonna's Shipyard is seeking a 1st Class Sheet Metal Mechanic to support our shipyard operations in Norfolk, VA.

Responsibilities

• Perform all tasks associated with lower classman.
• Layout all joiner inclusive of bulkheads, doors, ceilings, shelving, furniture, consoles, and all attachments from drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions with supervision.
• Prefab / install joiner bulkheads, doors, ceilings, shelving, furniture, consoles, and all attachments with limited to no supervision.
• Perform interference removal / re-install from drawings, work orders or verbal instruction with limited to no supervision.
• Run metal and operate break and shear.
• Measure and install duct / fitting.
• Mount and install equipment.
• Lay out hangers and duct etc.
• Maintain functional working knowledge of blueprints and construction information.
• Monitor working environment and surroundings for compliance with quality, safety, environmental and health regulations.
• May be assigned to work any shift.
• May be assigned additional tasks including outside the craft as required by company needs.
