PROGRAM DIRECTOR, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Pathways

Georgetown University, Berkley School of Nursing (BSON) is seeking an innovative leader for the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Pathways programs. The Program Director (PD) is responsible for the oversight, management, implementation and quality of the BSN program pathways including a traditional four-year campus-based program and a hybrid accelerated BSN (ABSN). This position and reports to the Assistant Dean of Professional Practice and Direct Entry Pathways.

In addition, the PD is a key member of the pre-licensure pathways leadership team. The PD directs all matters relating to the BSN / ABSN curriculum, course development, course delivery, course quality and evaluation (including course and faculty evaluation). The PD works collaboratively with the other specialty program directors in all matters relating to the core curriculum.

This faculty position is held on the educator track (non-tenure) in at a rank commensurate with criteria representing scholarship, teaching and service expectations. The following time commitments are reflected below :

  • Administration as Program Director : 30-50%, based on student enrollment and program needs

Teaching : 40-50% (8-9 credits)

Scholarship : 10%

Service : 10%

Minimum qualifications include

Terminal degree (research focused, practice focused e.g., DNP, PhD, EdD)

  • Eligible for an unencumbered RN license in the District of Columbia
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive leadership or administrative experience at the undergraduate and / or graduate levels
  • Prior experience with curriculum development, evaluation, and outcomes
  • Experience in developing course content and teaching in a variety of learning formats (face to face, hybrid, online)
  • Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills
  • Demonstrate a progressive body of scholarship
  • Responsibilities include

    Administration (up to 40%)

  • Management, planning and coordination of all aspects of program operations.
  • Ensuring integration of GUSON values including but not limited to antiracism, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Coordination and implementation of the curriculum to reflect current practice guidelines.
  • Ensures accreditation requirements are met and annual out com reports are submitted.
  • Oversees the program evaluation plan.
  • Monitor and report program outcomes, i.e., retention / graduation rates, certification rates, and employment rates.
  • Selection, supervision, evaluation and fostering professional development of program faculty.
  • Collaboration with faculty and staff colleagues, as well as leadership to ensure outstanding program graduates and effective planning and implementation of future initiatives.
  • Enhancement of the program's reputation and visibility through engagement in relevant professional activities.
  • Teaching (up to 50%)

  • Teaches in area of expertise as needed
  • Participates in curriculum and course development
  • Develops and implements innovative teaching strategies
  • Scholarship & Service (10-20%)

  • Engagement in scholarly activities such as research, publications and grant writing.
  • Participating in program, school, university, and other committees as required.
  • Participating in all relevant program and SON student events as required.

    The projected salary pay range for this position is $125,000 - 145,000 (Includes PD stipend), which represents the full range of anticipated compensation for this position. Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate's individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University's business needs and external factors.
