Compensation
Pay Range : $67,070.00 - $108,990.00 / year

Duties
The Server Administrator's role is to ensure the stability, performance and integrity of all Health System server systems. This includes hosts, virtual machines, physical servers, data storage systems, presentation services, authentication and authorization systems, data and server backup systems and system services. The Systems Administrator will participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance and support of all server hardware, software, and networks. They will diagnose, resolve, and document hardware and software server problems in a timely and accurate fashion, and provide team and end user training where required. The System Administrator ensures the availability of client / server applications, ensures high performance levels of various business and clinical applications, configures new implementations and develops processes and procedures for ongoing management and monitoring of enterprise server and storage environments. They handle client access issues and assist in overseeing the physical, integrity, and safety of the server and storage stacks / farms.
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for effective provisioning, installation / configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructureEnsures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standardsInvestigate and troubleshoot issues. Repair and recover from hardware or software failuresCoordinate and communicate with impacted business unitsManage workflow using an enterprise ticketing systemWindows Server Build and AdministrationParticipates in technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructureAbility to take project requirements and turn them into an executable planRespond to emergency server outages in accordance with business continuity and disaster recovery plansCreate and maintain documentation as it relates to server configuration, server relationships, and service recordsAdhere to policies, procedures, and associated training plans for server administration, usage, and disaster recoveryMaintain company servers, hosts, Active Directory, file servers and other server related hardwareUtilize trouble ticketing and tracking system to coordinate work and document work tasksConduct research on server products, services, protocols, and standards to remain abreast of developments in the server industryOversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgradesConfigure servers to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling business objectives and processesMonitor server performance and troubleshoot problem areas as neededReceive and respond to incoming calls, automated alerts, notifications, and / or e-mails / ticketing system regarding server problemsEnsure server authentication with directory servicesPractice server asset management, including maintenance of server component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications informationMonitor and test server performance and provide server performance statistics and reportsParticipate in maintaining all server security solutionsQualifications
Associate's degree and four (4) years of related work experience required. Work experience may substitute for education requirementAt least 4 years of Information Technology experienceAt least 3 years of Windows and / or Linux Administration experienceSpecialization in at least one of the following : Active Directory, Citrix, Databases, VMware, Linux / Unix, Storage SystemsWindows Server 2019 / 2022 Build and AdministrationRedhat / Oracle Enterprise Linux 6, 7, 8 Build and AdministrationExperience administering Microsoft Clusters, Linux ClustersExperience with DHCP, DNS, IP configurationScripting skills including PowerShell, vbscript, bash, Python or KubernetesUnderstanding of Active Directory, Group Policies, OU structureStrong Troubleshooting skills regarding all components of Windows from OS and driver issues to authentication issuesAn understanding of server capacity planning, server security principles, and general server management best practicesWorking technical knowledge of current server hardware, software, protocolsAbility to operate server process monitors, interpret output from procmon, network monitors, and competence with testing toolsHardware troubleshooting experienceKnowledge of granting and removing rights to resources including network file serversCertifications : MCSAStrong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skillsAble to conduct research into server issues as requiredAbility to present ideas in user-friendly languageSelf-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detailAble to effectively prioritize tasks in a high-pressure environmentAble to work with moderate supervisionStrong customer service orientationExperience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environmentAbility to sit at a computer for extended periods of timeAbility to lift and install equipment into server equipment racksAvailable for afterhours on call supportJob Details
