Job Description Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our Ceramic Matrix Composites (CMC) team, supporting the Chemical Vapour Infiltration (CVI) process. This role focuses on scaling, optimizing, and sustaining high-temperature composite manufacturing used in next- aerospace applications. The successful candidate will drive process improvements, root cause investigations, and production readiness of CVI-related operations.

What you will be doing :

With this new role, you'll have an opportunity to work on the following :

Process Development & Optimization

\n

  • Support and improve CVI process parameters, cycle times, and product quality.

\n

  • Collaborate with materials, R&D, and design teams to transition new products from development to manufacturing.
  • \n

  • Define and implement process controls and lean manufacturing principles.
  • \n

    \n

    Production Support

    \n

  • Provide day-to-day technical support to CVI operations to resolve production issues.
  • \n

  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as yield, throughput, and cycle time.
  • \n

  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective / preventive actions for non-conformances.
  • \n

    \n

    Documentation & Compliance :

    \n

  • Author and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), manufacturing instructions, and process documentation.
  • \n

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations specific to high-temperature and reactive gas processes. Rigorously raise, investigate and resolve safety related issues.
  • \n

    \n

    Equipment & Facility Interface :

    \n

  • Support maintenance and upgrades of CVI furnaces and related process equipment.
  • \n

  • Participate in commissioning of new tools and process lines.
  • \n

    \n

    Continuous Improvement :

    \n

  • Utilize Six Sigma, 5S, PFMEA, and other quality tools to identify and execute process improvements.
  • \n

  • Contribute to cost reduction initiatives and capacity expansion planning. Responsible for self-development to meet the required competencies for the role. Continuously seek to expand knowledge and experience to increase effectiveness in undertaking existing and new activities.

    Basic Requirements : \n

  • Associate's degree in Engineering with 4+ years of engineering experience, OR
  • \n

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 2+ years of engineering experience, OR
  • \n

  • Master's degree in Engineering, OR
  • \n

  • PhD in Science, Technology or Engineering, OR
  • \n

  • In lieu of a degree 6+ years of engineering experience
  • \n

  • To be considered for this opportunity, you must be a U.S. or Permanent
  • \n

    \n

    Requirements : \n

  • Experience with the manufacture of Ceramic Matrix Composite Components or Aerospace Components with coating operations.
  • \n

  • Knowledge of Vacuum Furnace operating principles and hardware
  • \n

  • Knowledge of PSM and how to implement
  • \n

  • Knowledge of gas supply and flow rate control / verification
  • \n

  • Knowledge of piping and instrumentation diagram creation / interpretation
  • \n

  • Experience with logic-based control systems
  • \n

  • Experience with Mass Flow Controllers, Thermocouples, Vacuum Pumps, PH Probes.
  • \n

  • Experience with Control of Hazardous / Explosive Gases and Chemical Scrubbers for treatment of exhaust furnace waste
  • \n

  • Experience with the FAT / SAT process and the validation of new equipment for use in production
  • \n

    Pay Range : $70,629 - $105,943
