Job Description : Purpose of Position
Purpose of Position :
Under general supervision, develops and maintains systems for monitoring standards for professional activities as mandated under Federal and State legislation. Provides guidance and advice with respect to policies and priorities in the development of Quality Assurance and Utilization Review.
General tasks and responsibilities will include :

- Manages activities related to Core Measures including data abstraction and uploads for Inpatient, Outpatient and Psychiatry Core Measures. Collaborates with stakeholders to improve performance, processes and documentation practices.
- Facilities data collection responsibilities for Value Based Purchasing, publicly reported indicators, and other measures as determined by NYC Health+ Hospitals or the Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement Committee.
- Coordinates Medical Record reviews and data collection as appropriate.
- Maintains, analyzes and provides reports and data collection as appropriate
- Manages, coordinates, and monitors data collection and analysis on quality assurance and performance improvement, patient safety and continuous compliance related issues for planning and priory setting, as appropriate.
- Assists in data gathering and monitoring of compliance with In Depth Case Reviews and Root Cause Analyses.
- Assists in monitoring and evaluation of effectiveness of Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement / Patient Safety programs throughout the organization.
- Ensures coordination of Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement and Patient Safety initiatives across the organization.
- Helps identify areas of vulnerability related to Quality Assurance, Performance Improvement and Patient Safety issues.
- Participation in Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement / Patient Safety meetings.
- Provides education and support to the organization for the integration of Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement.
- Supports the process of identifying staff training and assists as appropriate in developing effective employee education programs to enhance continuous compliance with Quality Assurance and
- Performance Improvement activities.
- Develops and provides presentations as needed / assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
Qualification for Central Office.Qualification for Health Care Facility.
a. A Baccalaureate Degree in Public Administration, Public Health or Health Care Specialization; and,b. Five
years or four# years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital administration, with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of health care delivery services; or,a. A Masters Degree in Public Administration, Public Health or Health Care Specialization; and,b. Four
years or three# years of increasingly responsible experience in hospital administration, with particular emphasis on development and evaluation of health care delivery services.Preferred Skills :
Ability to work within interdisciplinary environment and different levels of staff across Departments
Excellent organizational, oral, writing, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of and ability to perform medical record reviews
RN with current NYS Professional License preferred or Foreign Medical Graduate
Four (4) years of increasing responsible experience and proficient knowledge of Quality Assurance / Performance Improvement / Patient Safety Standards.
