Position Overview :
The Flight for Life Pilot delivers an exceptional level of service with the goal of ensuring the success of the Flight for Life Program while following Mayo Aviations policies and procedures.
- Expected schedule is a variation of 3-5 days on and 3-5 days off.
- Candidate will be air medical focused with ability to transition to charter missions when required
Essential Functions :
- Is at all times directly responsible for and is the final authority as to the safe and efficient operation of the aircraft
- Maintain aircraft and medical equipment readiness at all times
- Plan and conduct all assigned flights in compliance with FAA regulations, Mayo Aviation and Flight for Life standard operating procedures with safety as a primary focus
- Conduct briefing with the on-site medical crew and FFL communications center to include crew status, aircraft status, service difficulties, weather, and reported or expected turbulence
- Maintains active communications with Mayo Flight Control in accordance with Mayo policies and procedures
- Completes all trip paperwork and reports timely and in accordance with current company procedures
- Promotes an active safety culture by adhering to Mayo Aviations Safety Management System policies and procedures and is actively involved with corrective action plans and preventative measures
- Utilizes the Mayo Aviation risk analysis tool for effective identification and mitigation of known risk factors
- When not on an assigned flight, crewmembers will perform duties to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the medical aircraft and facilities.
Job Qualifications
Working knowledge of the Federal Aviation Regulations
First Class Medical Certificate
Airline Transport Pilot Certificate
Education or Formal Training
Bachelor's degree preferred
Knowledge and Other Requirements
- Multi-engine turboprop :
- Total flight exp. : 2500
- Multi-engine exp. : 500
- PIC exp. : 1000
- Mountain experience preferred
- Must hold valid passport
- Read, write, and speak the English language fluently
- Ability to relocate within 1 hour of Centennial Airport, Denver, CO (KAPA)
Working Environment / Physical Activities
Working conditions are those of a typical flight operation. The working environment is subject to varying locations and climatic conditions, variable hours and time zone changes, jet fuel and exhaust fumes, and noise from aircraft and ground equipment.
The position requires physical exertion such as pulling, pushing, kneeling, twisting, climbing, squatting, bending, and lifting of bags and equipment.
Note : This position is covered by the Drug Program and Alcohol Misuse Prevention Program required by Federal Aviation Regulations.
