Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Operating Room position with strong trauma and specialty surgery experience in a Level II Trauma Center.
Responsibilities
Work in a 15-suite hospital Operating Room, including 2 CVOR suitesLevel II Trauma Center with primary patient populations in general, trauma, ortho, neuro, ENT, vascular, gyn, urology, robotics, plastics, and limited peds ortho1 : 1 nurse-to-patient ratioCerner EMR is utilizedUse of specialized OR equipment including Plum 360 IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Spacelabs monitorsNo floating requiredOn-call required : 1 weekday per week and 1 full weekend per month with a 30-minute response timeWeekend and holiday rotation is expectedGreen scrubs provided by the facilityPosition involves circulating only in a comprehensive array of surgical specialtiesSupport structure includes ORA, desk assistant, charge nurse, and team service line leadersTwo-week orientation on day shift; expected to take buddy call during orientationParking is available in a parking deckExpected to work at least one holiday per contractFirst-time travelers are considered if they meet experience requirementsRequirements
Active AL or compact RN licenseMinimum 2 years of recent circulator experience in trauma, neuro, ortho (including total joints and spine), general, vascular (including endovascular), ENT, urology, gyn, plastics, and robotic surgery (Mazor / DaVinci XI preferred)Current BLS and ACLS certifications requiredExperience circulating the listed case types requiredRobotics experience preferredCerner EMR experience preferredNo candidates residing within 60 miles of the facilityFormer perm staff must wait 6 months before being considered for traveler positionsBenefits
