Overview
This is a hybrid role with the expectation that time working will regularly take place inside and outside of a company office.
We are looking for candidates who live within a commutable drivable distance to our Charlotte or Raleigh, North Carolina office.
This position is responsible for assisting the first line risk program with implementing and executing programs to ensure successful implementation and sustained execution and will provide guidance to other department associates as needed. Risk programs include Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), Issues Management, Operational Risk Events, New Products & Services, Material Risk Identification, Third Party Risk Management, and Model Risk Management, among others.
Responsibilities
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Works with respective business process and business teams to assess impact and help facilitate execution of risk programs throughout the business, in partnership with the frontline risk program team. Advises on impacts based on understanding of processes within the Enterprise Operations. Provides necessary feedback to support management of risk within Enterprise Operations. Partners with the business and frontline risk programs team to help execute the implementation of effective program policies, standards, and procedures.
Process Management / Continuous Improvement - Analyzes and understands processes with Enterprise Operations to understand current and future impacts of risk programs. Serves as a business process subject matter expert within the Enterprise Operations, providing guidance and process coaching to ensure appropriate and effective collaboration between the BU and the frontline risk program teams.
Risk Management - Maintains an understanding of risk program requirements, regulatory expectations, Enterprise Operation's risk environment and risk appetite, as well as related policies, standards and procedures to ensure alignment of Enterprise Operations activities to requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Risk.
Business process skills, Attention to detail, Knowledge of risk programs, Process mapping and analysis skills, Data analysis and reporting skills, Process improvement, Risk assessment and mitigation skills, Knowledge of risk techniques, practices, and control frameworks. Knowledge of various banking and government regulatory requirements and processes. Ability to work effectively with associates, senior management, and various committees. Knowledge of regulatory guidance pertaining to enterprise risk and operational risk. Knowledge of product management and supporting risk management programs within a product organization. Stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
Highly Preferred Qualifications :
Process mapping and analysis
Operations Management experience
Project Management skills
Large Financial Institution First Line of Defense Risk Management experience
Strong experience in Visio and Archer platforms
The base pay for this position is generally between $95,000.00 and $149,500.00. Actual starting base pay will be determined based on skills, experience, location, and other non-discriminatory factors permitted by law. For some roles, total compensation may also include variable incentives, bonuses, benefits, and / or other awards as outlined in the offer of employment.
