Job descriptionAs a Financial Analyst in the billings and collections department at DQE, you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and financial reporting integrity. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather data, provide analysis, and support strategic initiatives. This position requires a strong background in finance, accounting, and analytical skills to support our billing processes and collections activities. Review and analyze billing data to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Assist in revenue recognition processes and ensure adherence to accounting standards. Identify opportunities for process improvements in billing procedures, collection strategies, and reporting efficiencies. Monitor accounts receivable aging reports and collaborate with collections team to minimize overdue accounts. Prepare financial reports related to billing and collections activities, including variance analysis and forecasting. Conduct financial analysis related to billing trends, collection efficiency, and customer payment behaviors. Support month-end and year-end close processes, including variance analysis and reconciliation of accounts. Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting techniques. Advanced knowledge of NetSuite, Excel and financial software. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and draw meaningful conclusions. Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate financial information to non-financial stakeholders. Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and meeting deadlines. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CFA, CPA) is a plus. 2+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in a corporate environment.
