Primary Purpose
The Electrical Line Technician gets to 'spark' up the business by installing, repairing and maintaining temporary power poles, lines, and generators for our customers. this roll assembles, installs, tests, and maintains electrical and electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures.
Essential Functions
- Maintain, operate, and repair electrical systems
- Perform installation and maintenance tasks to ensure effective operation of various electrical equipment
- Install and repair of temporary power poles using hand tools and testing instruments to diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components and isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other elements of electrical systems
- Mount motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and complete circuits according to diagram specifications
- Inspect completed work for conformance with requirements of applicable safety codes
- Maintain telephone or radio contact with dispatch to update dispatch when on and offsite and to receive additional instructions, and for changes to work locations
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures
- Maintain truck logs according to state and federal regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsAbility to effectively present information in one-on-one to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization including superiors and direct reportsAbility to perform simple arithmetic (add, subtract, multiply, and divide). Ability to perform these operations using units of American currency, measurement, weight, and distance. Ability to estimate materials and labor costsAbility to interpret and work from instructions, penciled plans and sketches, and blueprintsAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situationsThorough knowledge of the practices, methods, equipment, materials, and tools of the electrical tradeThorough knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the workSkill in the use and care of all hand and shop tools and equipment of the electrician's tradeValid Driver's License and proof of current automobile insurancePhysical Requirements

Within the posted salary range, individual pay is determined by the geographic location, job related skills, experience, education, and certifications. Our total compensation package includes base pay plus a comprehensive benefits program.
