Overview
Orange County Government serves Central Florida with integrity, professionalism, and customer service excellence. The Facilities Management Division seeks a highly qualified Maintenance Technician to maintain landscapes, hardscapes, irrigation systems, and storm water drainage systems. The role is essential to keep public facilities safe, sustainable, and well-maintained.
Responsibilities
As a Maintenance Technician, you will perform a variety of maintenance, service, and repair tasks across buildings, mechanical equipment, plumbing, electrical systems, and carpentry. The primary duties include :
- Perform quality assurance inspections of contracted landscape contractors for assigned facilities.
- Inspect County properties grounds to ensure landscapes, sidewalks, parking lots, and storm water drainage systems are in proper working condition.
- Repair landscapes, sidewalks, parking lots, irrigation systems, and storm water drainage systems.
- Document daily work / travel on a hand-held electronic device for maintenance records.
- Check and maintain assigned facility equipment or system for preventive maintenance and critical operation factors.
- Assume multi-trade assignments and responsibilities based on daily operational needs.
- Perform other related work as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of experience in skilled trades, craft, or maintenance. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License. May be required to possess and maintain the appropriate valid Commercial Driver's License for the type of equipment operated.
Preferences
Preferred candidates demonstrate the following experience and skills :
Experience performing highly skilled journeyman level work, maintaining, installing, altering, and repairing landscapes, hardscapes, and irrigation systems.Proficient in the repair and replacement of irrigation systems, electrical, and hydronic systems.Proficient in the repair of sidewalks, parking lots, storm water systems, and landscaping.Skilled in journeyman level plumbing.Experience with building maintenance in a multi-trade environment on facilities, buildings, and building systems.Willingness to be sent on maintenance calls and assist other skilled trades personnel when needed.Excellent customer service skills and ability to work in a team environment.Application Deadline

Pay Grade : 107 – From $16.65 to $21.72
