Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE : Perform commissioning of electrical systems. Must be a self-motivated & energetic professional with understanding of building electrical systems design & construction. Experience with commissioning processes of electrical systems of varying size, rating, and complexity is required. The candidate should possess theoretical and practical knowledge in commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting electrical systems and related controls. Responsibilities include reviewing project information, executing field activities, maintaining documentation, assisting the Senior Project Engineer, and guiding associate project engineers. Technical competency, organizational skills, and teamwork are essential.

Primary Duties / Responsibilities

• Commission electrical distribution equipment and related controls, primarily in data center environments, including medium voltage systems.
• Review system designs for compliance with client goals.
• Assist in preparing plans and procedures for commissioning.
• Conduct commissioning activities from design through occupancy, following client requirements and industry best practices.
• Attend factory testing and document procedures and results.
• Perform functional testing and record results using test instrumentation.
• Document all procedures, results, issues, and observations.
• Report on system performance and recommend technical solutions.
• Coordinate and execute field activities with project teams.
• Review and contribute to project documentation and schedules.
• Maintain daily commissioning reports.
• Train Associate Project Engineers.
• Respond professionally and promptly to inquiries.
• Ensure safety compliance.
• Familiarity with building equipment such as generators, transformers, UPS systems, switchgear, MSBs, PLC controls, EPMS, ATS, STS, PDU, busways, and RPP.
