A dedicated Senior Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer adept at leading cross-functional QA activities, this role focuses on understanding business requirements at a functional level, identifying, writing, and testing detailed requirements with test cases.

The position entails managing and coordinating with outsourced vendors to evaluate and test software development releases, ensuring they meet specifications and standards.

Active participation in all phases of the software development lifecycle is crucial to identify and resolve system malfunctions, maintaining high-quality standards.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Programming, the role involves managing the activities and deliverables of tasks assigned to QA contractors.

Furthermore, this role takes the lead in QA Engineering initiatives to build and maintain a modern QA automation platform.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Quality Assurance

Lead cross-functional QA activities to ensure the quality and reliability of software products throughout the development lifecycle.

Develop, review, and execute test cases, test plans, and test strategies to validate software functionality, performance, and usability.

Take ownership of QA test environments, ensuring their availability, stability, and suitability for testing purposes.

Manage test data, including generation, maintenance, and confidentiality, to support effective testing processes.

Collaborate with development and other cross functional teams to identify, prioritize, track and address software defects and quality issues.

Maintain departmental Quality metrics.

Stay updated on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and QA trends to drive innovation and improvement in QA processes.

Automated Testing

Identify, build, and / or direct others in developing unit, integration, and end to end automated test cases aimed at improving product code quality and ensuring product functionality.

Validate the test plans and automation code delivered by the QA Outsourced Vendor to ensure they meet coding standards and comprehensively cover the acceptance criteria.

Lead initiatives to design, develop, and implement a modern QA automation platform to streamline testing efforts and enhance test coverage.

Vendor Management

Maintain, report on, and ensure delivery to all QA Outsourced Vendor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

Manage and oversee the work of QA Outsourced Vendor working on automated and functional testing, including reviewing, and reporting on the status to technical and business management.

Provide training and mentorship if necessary for QA Outsourced Vendor as well as junior internal staff.

Business Analysis and Design

Collaborate with Product / Business Owners, Business Analysts, Project Management, and Technical Staff to perform analyses for validation of new or revised business processes and / or software.

Collaborate with Business Analysts to develop test plans from business requirements.

Collaborate with Solution Architects and Engineering Team to devise testing strategies.

Other duties as identified and assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Solid understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum) and SDLC processes.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues and drive solutions.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Leadership experience in driving QA initiatives, managing QA teams, and delivering high-quality software products on schedule.

Able to be highly confidential

Able to work in a team environment.

Highly organized and prioritizes work effectively

Experience working within a geographically dispersed company is desirable

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

5+ years of experience in QA engineering roles, with a focus on software testing and quality assurance.

Proficiency in writing test cases, test plans, and test strategies, with strong attention to detail.

3+ years Hands-on experience with QA automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, Junit etc.) and CI / CD pipelines.

High school education required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Primarily sitting with some walking, standing, and bending

Able to hear and speak into a telephone.

Close visual work on a computer terminal

Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments.

Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs.

WORK CONDITIONS

Extensive daily usage of workstation or computer

This role is expected to be remote with an occasional need to be on-site in a shared space.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

Must possess a current, valid state-issued driver’s license.

Periodic travel to U.S. data center locations

Must be able to accommodate the occasional work outside normal business hours, including weekends, late nights, holidays

This is a remote position that requires reliable internet connection and electricity. A monthly stipend is provided to cover expenses associated with working remotely and use of a personal mobile device, if applicable.

NTT Global Data Centers Americas, Inc. offers competitive compensation based on experience, education, and location. Base salary for this position is $128,800 - $191,000

All regular full-time employees are eligible for an annual bonus; payout is dependent upon individual and company performance.
