Position Overview : The Fixed Asset Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining the company's fixed asset records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
This role will involve working closely with various departments to track, reconcile, and report on fixed assets throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities :
- Maintain accurate records of fixed assets, including acquisition, depreciation, disposal, and impairment.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of fixed asset subsidiary ledgers to the general ledger.
- Coordinate with departments to ensure proper capitalization and recording of fixed asset transactions.
- Conduct periodic physical inventory checks to verify the existence and condition of fixed assets.
- Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual fixed asset reports for management review.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of fixed asset accounting policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits and reviews of fixed assets.
- Provide support for special projects and initiatives related to fixed assets as needed.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- CPA or progress towards CPA certification preferred.
- 2 years of experience in fixed asset accounting or related financial role.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, particularly related to fixed assets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
