An Associate in our Government Consulting Department is given a wide variety of research, compliance, auditing, and other consulting tasks.

Performance is judged on proficiency and effectiveness of task performance, including the quality of work, ability to meet applicable program and contract requirements, and the ability to meet time constraints.

Essential Performance :

1. Develop basic technical skills in the applicable program and contract areas of practice

2. Develop professional and timely written and verbal communication skills

3. Perform tasks as directed by Team Lead or appropriate supervisor timely, efficiently, and accurately

4. Complete standard working papers and develop working paper documentation skills

5. Outline problems and issues to the Team Lead or other supervisor which lead to solutions

6. Prepare documents in CaseWare, including all appropriate forms and templates, with minimal assistance

7. Proficiently use Excel, Word, CaseWare, and applicable programs as directed by the Team Lead, CMS, or Prime Contractors

8. Understand sampling and testing methodology for specific types of Medicare examinations, agreed-upon procedures, and desk / compliance assignments

9. Understand the purpose of Medicare examination / agreed-upon procedures and how sections relate to one another

10. Inform the applicable supervisor of issues encountered in a prompt manner

Skills :

  • Ability to work within a well-defined job structure with established standards of performance, but to display the confidence necessary to handle occasional, unexpected problems
  • Ability to stay on top of a variety of commitments and deadlines, altering time frames and schedules, and reporting on problems and progress in a timely manner
  • A need to work in a very active environment where there is a high degree of urgency to tasks and assignments
  • Ability to follow up and closely control all activities which are assigned or delegated
  • A strong need to work on tasks which require precision and close attention to detail
  • A need for a friendly, cooperative environment, with some personal recognition

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree or above

Experience is a plus but not required
