Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Operating Room RN with strong vascular, ortho, and neuro skills for a Level 1 trauma center, TX or compact license required.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Operating Room department of a Level 1 trauma centerHandles a broad range of cases including orthopedic, neuro, vascular, urology, general, robotic, and some eye proceduresShift is 4x10 hour days, Monday to Friday, 10 : 30 to 21 : 00, with a rotating day off and required callUnit has 14 OR roomsNo EMR documentation is required, but EPIC charting experience is preferredNo local candidates accepted from specified counties or within a 50-mile radiusWill participate in a variety of surgical procedures except for cardiac and transplant casesCall coverage is required as part of the rotationNo travel pairs or groups will be consideredNo more than 3 days of requested time off (RTO) will be auto-approved, and no RTO is allowed during the first week of orientationOrientation includes onsite modules completed during the first week, totaling 4-6 hours for RNsHoliday coverage may be required as part of the assignmentRequirements
Active TX or compact State RN license required at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience required with robust expertise in vascular, ortho, neuro, urology, and general casesCurrent BLS certification and NBSTSA certification requiredACLS certification preferredPrevious travel experience requiredPediatrics and adolescent experience preferredSkills in trauma, endo / lap, neuro, ortho, podiatry, thoracic, vascular, abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, endovascular aneurysm repair, femoral popliteal bypass graft, dilation & curettage, and aseptic technique are requiredFormer permanent staff must be gone at least 1 year before returning as a travelerBenefits
