AK Fuquay Construction is a leader in erosion control and site development services across Central Texas. Founded in 1985 and built on a reputation for quality, professionalism, and innovation, we specialize in hydromulch, silt fence, matting, seeding, gabion work, and SWPPP compliance. We are seeking a Construction Estimator to join our team and support our continued growth.

Position Overview :

The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed cost estimates for erosion control and related construction projects. This role requires strong attention to detail, a deep understanding of construction materials and methods, and the ability to manage multiple bids under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities :

Review project plans, specifications, and bid documents to prepare complete and competitive estimates.

Quantify materials, labor, and equipment required for each project.

Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes.

Work closely with project managers and field personnel to ensure estimates align with field practices and production rates.

Identify cost-saving opportunities, risks, and constructability concerns.

Track and maintain bid opportunities, project results, and market pricing.

Assist with project handoff and change order pricing as needed.

Qualifications :

Minimum 3 years of experience in construction estimating, preferably in erosion control, civil, or site work.

Strong knowledge of construction drawings, takeoff software, and industry estimating tools.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related applications.

Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills.

Self-motivated with the ability to manage deadlines and priorities independently.

Preferred :

Experience with public works, TxDOT, or municipal projects.

Familiarity with BMPs, SWPPP, and environmental compliance requirements.
