The Role

About the Role

Electrical Engineer will support the design, development, and integration of electrical and combat systems for U.S. Navy submarines and aircraft carriers. The engineer will validate system and subsystem requirements, manage system interfaces, and ensure compliance with technical and performance standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Support the design and development of electrical and combat systems.
• Establish system and subsystem design requirements from top-level specifications.
• Manage system interfaces and ensure integrated functionality.
• Develop and execute verification and validation procedures.
• Identify, design, and integrate components and subsystems to meet performance requirements.
• Lead or contribute to the creation of technical deliverables and reports.
• Coordinate with design, test, and construction teams.
• Support power generation and distribution system design and integration efforts.

o Sonar Systems

o Computer / Data System Integration

o Radio System Integration

o Cabling

o Requirement Management and System Engineering Approach

o Power Distribution or Power Generation

o Control Systems

o Ability to read and understand system schematics and drawings

Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks. Designs electrical equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial, industrial, and domestic purposes.

Must Have

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of relevant exempt experience;

Master’s Degree and 0 year of relevant professional experience

Newport News Shipbuilding requires a Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program.
