Lead Strategy, Compliance & Reporting for a Fast-Growing Public Company
We’re seeking an experienced and strategic Director of Tax to lead our client's end-to-end tax function across a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment. Reporting directly to the VP of Tax, this is a high-impact leadership role responsible for tax strategy, compliance, reporting, and risk management for a large, publicly traded organisation.

What You’ll Own
As Director of Tax, you will lead :
- Prepare and review quarterly and annual ASC 740 income tax provisions.
- Oversee documentation of Uncertain Tax Positions for regulatory filings.
- Stay ahead of new tax legislation and financial reporting developments.
Compliance & Filings
Manage federal, state, and local income tax returns, plus international reporting (e.g., 5471s).Coordinate estimated tax payments and extensions across multiple jurisdictions.Ensure SOX compliance with strong internal controls and documentation.Advise on tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and major business initiatives.Develop and implement forward-thinking tax strategies to optimise the company’s position.Serve as an internal tax expert across the organisation.Lead federal, state, and local tax audits with confidence and accuracy.Partner with external advisors, consultants, and auditors to ensure compliance and transparency.Mentor, develop, and lead tax team members to drive performance and growth.Identify process improvements and champion automation, efficiency, and data-driven tax operations.What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.10+ years’ progressive experience in public accounting or corporate tax for a public company.Deep expertise in ASC 740, including UTPs and financial statement disclosures.Strong knowledge of federal, multi-state & international tax compliance and reporting.Proven success leading complex tax projects, including M&A.Exceptional research, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.Collaborative leadership style with a track record of coaching and developing teams.High adaptability and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency with Microsoft Office and financial reporting systems.Preferred
CPA required.Experience with OneSource Tax Provision and OneSource Corporate Income Tax.Track record of driving process improvements and tax technology initiatives.Why This Role?
