Job Description :

As a Plumbing Estimator at Seaway Plumbing, you will be responsible for assessing the costs associated with plumbing systems in commercial and high-end residential construction projects. You will work closely with our project management and sales teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids, contributing to our growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities :

Estimation : Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for plumbing systems in commercial and high-end residential construction projects, considering materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors.

Blueprint Analysis : Review project blueprints, specifications, and related documents to understand the scope of work and identify potential challenges or opportunities for cost optimization.

Vendor and Subcontractor Relations : Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and other industry professionals to secure competitive quotes for materials and labor.

Cost Analysis : Analyze and evaluate quotations received, ensuring accuracy, competitiveness, and compliance with project requirements.

Value Engineering : Collaborate with the engineering and design teams to propose cost-effective alternatives and value engineering solutions while maintaining quality standards.

Documentation : Prepare comprehensive and organized bid packages, proposals, and reports, and assist in contract negotiations.

Bid Presentation : Present estimates and proposals to clients and project stakeholders, addressing questions and concerns as necessary.

Project Support : Provide ongoing support to project teams, assisting with budget tracking, change order evaluation, and project cost control.

Market Research : Stay up-to-date with industry trends, pricing, and best practices to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative.

Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.

Proven experience as a plumbing estimator in commercial and high-end residential construction.

Strong understanding of plumbing systems, codes, and regulations.

Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.

Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
