Apple is seeking an experienced Engineering Program Manager to join the Apple Service Engineering organization. Our SRE team is looking for a dynamic EPM to help build and run services that millions of customers use every day. We are looking for star performers to drive projects for various areas of Apple iCloud SRE team. You'll be partnered with a team whose mission it is to build, maintain and improve Apple's most critical services. The Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) team is responsible for service infrastructure that ensures our customers' perfect experience. You will partner with the SRE team in order to define, prioritize, plan, and deliver the project portfolio of technical, infrastructure, and system needs that make Apple, Apple. The projects range from deploying end to end infrastructure environments, help support feature launches, hardware deployments, decommissions, complex system changes, tech refreshes, data migrations, service outage remediation, CapEx planning, as well as continually striving to scale and mature operations and operational standard methodologies.

The role requires you to build partner trust and persistently remove ambiguity by seeking to reduce complexity. This role is pivotal in developing a broad organizational perspective and requires facilitation and execution on strategic decisions as well as have a pulse on what is happening in the industry. In addition, the role will support the development of process improvement and standard operating procedures, in order to achieve required maturity and effectiveness, all while leading and growing teams of extraordinary project managers. Systems within this scope are complex, so you will not only be expected to be able to readily understand complicated and subtle interdependencies, but also to evaluate new requests and new information in light of how it affects or is affected by those systems. Being able to think on your feet is important, as is the ability to efficiently debate the validity of a given approach to any aspect of a project under your control. You have strong social and interpersonal skills. As a critical member of the ASE EPM team, you will be on a team that serves the passions and needs of many tens of millions of customers in an increasingly security-conscious world, so we're looking for somebody who can be equally passionate! Key to your success will be the need to act as a business product thought problem solver on applicable domains, analyzing business risks, needs and requirements, participating and representing as the need arises in problem solving and design of engineering discussions. You'll need a strong background in program and project management complemented by your technical abilities.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • 5+ years proven experience in software development project management for Site Reliability Engineering / DevOps / Infrastructure domains
  • Experience leading & delivering large scale Infrastructure programs with focus on Cloud environments
  • Prior engineering, infrastructure experience

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Exceptional organizational, project management, and technical savvy
  • Experience with Kubernetes is a big plus
  • Agile project experience with evidence and able to demonstrate knowledge SCRUM background and / or played the role of a Scrum Master is plus
  • Ability to handle multiple simultaneous end to end infrastructure, technical projects and partner community comprising of various engineering teams and their partners
  • Experience at end to end project delivery; building roadmaps through to operational sustainability
  • A history of leadership, decision making, negotiation skills, and ability to influence partners without direct authority
  • Self-motivated and proactive with proven creative and critical thinking capabilities
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to represent at all levels of the organization
  • Strong facilitation skills (requirements sessions, design meetings, progress and status meetings)
  • Bachelors Degree - Computer Science / Engineering
  • Pay & Benefits :

    At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $163,300 and $290,100, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including : Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses including tuition. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary bonuses or commission payments as well as relocation.
