Job Description

Forklift Operators are responsible to load and unload trailers. 95% of your time is spent on the forklift working with a team of other operators in an open, cross dock environment.

• Safe Forklift Operation : Operate sit down safely and efficiently to move, stack, and load / unload materials, ensuring the safety of yourself and others at all times.
• Inventory Management : Keep accurate records of materials and products handled, making note of quantities, locations, and any damages or discrepancies.
• Loading and Unloading : Load and unload trucks, containers, and pallets with precision, ensuring that goods are properly secured to prevent damage during transportation.
• Dock Management : Maintain the organization and cleanliness of the dock area, including removing debris and obstructions, and ensuring clear pathways for equipment and personnel.
• Quality Control : Inspect inbound and outbound shipments for any visible damage, report discrepancies, and work with the team to resolve issues.
• Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations and participate in safety training.
• Equipment Maintenance : Perform routine maintenance checks on forklifts, report any defects or issues, and help with recharging batteries or changing propane tanks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year experience operating a forklift.
• Forklift certification per OSHA standards.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
