Job Purpose / Objective :
The General Manager is responsible for the entire operation of producing a quality and profitable product. This includes overseeing the overhead staff and the technicians. Encourages production managers to hit target dates for completion. Ensures safety and quality of repairs that achieves quality standards. Manages all files, ensuring that they are always up to date and ready for billing before vehicle leaves the shop.
Key Responsibilities :
- Responsible for achieving sales production goals and gross and net profit goals monthly
- Responsible for hitting all KPIs located on Qlik, NPS & CSI included
- In charge of the entire staff and see that the staff is performing all their duties
- Responsible for seeing that the Murrays Mission Statement and Guiding Principles are followed and carried out by the entire staff
- Maintains good relationships
- Sees that the mapping procedures are followed on every vehicle
- Produces the production of the vehicle the same way on every repair DFR (Disassemble for Repair)
- Responsible for keeping a staffing calendar of time off requested that is appropriate and does not affect the production of hitting sales goals
- Provide direction to all production employees to ensure repair orders are processed according to each repair plan and completion dates are achieved
- Write estimates / supplements
- Responsible for maintaining productivity levels to achieve a cycle time of current market times
- Monitor jobs coming in and adjust the production schedule as needed
- Ensure all vehicles are completely disassembled for a proper repair plan. Goal of one supplement
- Ensure all repair order information is current in CCC
- Manage individual performance of all production employees and coach / train as appropriate to hit goals of 200% efficiency, 3.5-hour touch time
- Go over the technicians monthly scorecard
- Facilitate regular daily production release meetings with production employees and office staff to review daily repair order status
- Keep CSR updated throughout the day
- Oversees that all departments have their file responsibilities correct and approves all files are ready for final billing
- Oversees maintenance person to keep work areas (bays, paint, details, parts, etc.) clean and orderly and all employees follow safety / OSHA / EPA guidelines
- Helps train parts person when needed
- Perform assigned duties in a safe and responsible manner
- The General Manager should strive to continuously improve efficiency in the facility and the overall operation
- Ensure that the shop is locked up at the end of every shift and alarm is turned on
Skills & Qualifications :
1-3 years experience handling parts in an auto body collision facility (or similar parts business).Working Conditions :
