SUMMARYFamily Service League is seeking a full-time Counselor for our Family Recovery Center (FRC) in Mastic. The Family Recovery Center provides individual and group therapy to children, families, and adults directly impacted by alcohol and drugs. The Counselor will consult and advocate with outside agencies and other supports, as needed, and facilitate referrals and follow-up on those services.We offer a generous benefits package including the following : Health and Dental InsuranceVision InsuranceFlexible Spending Account (FSA)Retirement Savings Plan with a 5% employer contributionLife and AD&D InsuranceGenerous PTO (paid time off)Up to 11 paid HolidaysPaid Sick LeaveStudent Tuition Remission ProgramEmployee Assistance Program (EAP)Company paid Short-Term and Long-Term DisabilityEmployee Discounts and more!RESPONSIBILITIESThe Counselor will provide the most appropriate and highest level of service to clients.Manage a caseload of clients and provide case management services; possibly primarily mandated by probation.Complete intake assessments.Conduct individual and group therapy sessions.Make accurate diagnosis and confer with supervisor when needed.The Counselor will provide each client with a realistic crisis plan.Work with clients to develop and reach treatment goals and change goals as needed.Efficiently access other necessary services for client.Complete progress notes, treatment plans and other OASAS required documentation in a timely manner.Conduct and record all results of laboratory screenings.Maintain contact with client legal mandates and notify of significant issues.Facilitate groups for clients depending upon client need.The Counselor will register appropriate clients in impaired driver system.Correspond with collateral family members and agencies in a timely and professional manner.Acquire knowledge of modalities relevant to client population.Maintain reasonable kept appointment rate.Contact clients by phone and letter regarding missed appointments.Obtain all necessary signatures and documentation related to client care.Maintain up-to-date progress notes, treatment plans, and Outpatient Treatment Reviews (OTRs).Terminate cases when appropriate and using the appropriate procedures.Inform office staff and ensure that clients are informed of schedule changes.Adhere to OASAS regulations.Meet regularly with supervisor to review cases.All other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSHigh school diploma or equivalent required.CASAC / CASAC-T or related education required.Minimum of 2 years of experience with substance use disorders required; experience with co-occurring disorders preferred.Experience working with adolescents and teens may be required.Excellent interpersonal, organizational, problem solving, and verbal and written communication skills required.Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and the ability to work closely with referral sources required.Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office required; Electronic Health Records preferred.Bilingual in Spanish preferred.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSThis position requires sitting and standing for long periods of time.Compensation details : 47000-50000 Yearly SalaryPI124fd7758c3e-29952-38523810 #True
