Summary Description
This is a mid-level position in the Industrial Automation & Machine Control field, involving engineering, design, programming, implementation, and testing of electrical control systems for automated equipment. The role requires a commitment to personal, professional, and technical development.
Primary Job Functions
- Implement controls design for customer-specific equipment.
- Design electrical control schematics using AutoCAD 2010.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials for hardware and software.
- Modify PLC / HMI programs and assist in developing new programs.
- Perform hardware and software debugging and functional testing.
- Ensure project delivery on schedule and within budget.
- Support the development of controls engineering personnel.
- Assist Technical Services in resolving client technical issues.
- Provide field support, installation, and service as needed.
- Work effectively as part of a team and communicate regularly with internal and customer personnel.
- Operate within unpredictable work schedules.
- Maintain engineering standards, policies, procedures, and ISO quality / environmental processes.
- Travel as required.
Requirements
Electrical troubleshooting skills with 460 / 3 / 60 Power & Motors, 24Vdc I / O, instrumentation (4-20mA).Mechanical troubleshooting skills including pneumatics and fluid / vacuum pumps.PLC programming experience with major platforms (Allen Bradley, GE, Mitsubishi, Siemens, Omron).Basic knowledge of physics and fluid dynamics.Understanding of process control analysis (Cp / Cpk).Experience with industrial networking (Ethernet / IP, RIO, Control Net, Device Net, CAN).Deep understanding of electrical engineering concepts and standards (NFPA 79, UL 508).Proficiency with IT systems, ERP, MS Office, and engineering software.Education, Experience & Accomplishments
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.At least five years experience with automated process equipment.Desirable : experience with Six Sigma, ISO auditing, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Proven track record of achieving performance goals.Leadership Attributes
