Job description5+ years of mechanical design engineering experience with a strong focus on HVAC. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field (architectural, healthcare, facilities, or industrial engineering with strong MEP focus). Experience in BAS and familiarity with plumbing design. Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD (ALTA / KAD). Strong client-facing skills, able to communicate clearly and effectively onsite. Proven ability to take a project from concept through completion with minimal oversight. Comfortable in a hybrid work environment (3 days in office). LEED AP certification PE License
Senior Mechanical Engineer
Location : Irvine, CA or Sacramento, CA (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
Employment Type : 12-Month Contract (contract to hire)
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in HVAC system design and building automation systems (BAS) to join a small, specialized engineering team. This role focuses on individual design work, taking projects from concept through construction documents, while also engaging with clients and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Responsibilities :
- Lead HVAC design for remodels (60%) and new construction (40%) projects.
- Develop mechanical designs from concept to construction documents, including load calculations, equipment sizing, and system layouts.
- Produce and finalize drawings using Revit and AutoCAD.
- Incorporate plumbing design knowledge to support HVAC systems.
- Coordinate with internal engineers, consultants, and clients to ensure project success.
- Engage with clients onsite to discuss project requirements, explain design intent, and ensure satisfaction.
- Deliver projects of varying size and complexity.
