SUMMARY :
A leading defense manufacturing company is seeking a Senior Product Manager to drive the development, launch, and full life cycle management of advanced products in the firearms accessories and tactical lighting space. This individual will oversee product strategy from concept through market introduction, ensuring profitability, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Lead the requirements process by gathering insights from customers, prospects, partners, sales, engineering, and marketing to build a clear, market-driven product roadmap.
- Translate feedback into detailed requirements, use cases, and functional specifications aligned with company goals and development processes.
- Manage the full product launch process, including timelines, model numbering, pricing, forecasting, warranty information, and other critical deliverables.
- Conduct product testing and validation, including live-fire and field evaluations, and provide accurate reporting of results to internal stakeholders.
- Maintain strong business acumen, leveraging knowledge of operations, finance, legal, and strategy to guide decision-making.
- Provide regular input to engineering and support teams, ensuring product quality, timely fixes, and continuous improvements based on customer and market feedback.
- Track product performance post-launch, including return trends and quality metrics, and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Partner with sales and marketing to develop product positioning, competitive differentiators, and go-to-market messaging, utilizing Microsoft Office tools.
- Prepare collateral such as technical data sheets, manuals, white papers, and competitive analyses for both internal and external audiences.
- Deliver market and competitive analysis reports, including segmentation studies and addressable market insights, to support executive-level strategy.
- Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, customer briefings, and internal meetings through product presentations and demonstrations.
- Coordinate structured product user testing during pre-release and post-release phases, ensuring actionable feedback is incorporated into development.
QUALIFICATIONS :
Demonstrated success managing multiple product development projects, ideally in firearms, defense, tactical equipment, or lighting manufacturing.Strong ability to present and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.Working knowledge of financial and accounting principles to support business case development.Hands-on familiarity with firearms and comfort in testing firearm-related accessories.Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of Word and PowerPoint.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field.Minimum of six (6) years relevant product management or design experience.Prior experience in an OEM environment is strongly preferred.Please Contact : Christopher De Cecco
