Electro-Mechanical Technician, Cleaning & Restoration Systems
Compensation : $24.00 - $25.00 per hour + Service Tech Bonus Program
A day in the role
Start your day reviewing scheduled service orders, then dive into hands-on diagnostics across a wide range of equipment used in commercial cleaning, restoration, and surface-prep. You will move from a truck-mounted carpet cleaning unit in the morning to a portable extractor after lunch, then wrap up by calibrating a dehumidifier and verifying airflow on an air scrubber.
What you'll work on
- Diagnose and repair electro-mechanical systems, engines, and controls across the fleet.
- Equipment includes (not limited to) : 2-, 3-, and 4-cylinder gas engines, basic automotive systems, truck-mounted carpet cleaning units, portable carpet extractors, hard-surface floor cleaning machines, duct cleaning equipment, deodorizing equipment, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, air movers, and HEPA vacuums.
- Use multimeters, gauges, and diagnostic tools; follow troubleshooting guides and OEM repair manuals for accurate fixes.
- Evaluate equipment condition and communicate additional service needs clearly and promptly.
- Create service orders for incoming repairs and build detailed bids / estimates for customers.
- Present estimates, schedule repairs, and manage appointments using scheduling software.
- Coordinate the shop workload with fellow technicians; assist teammates and store staff as needed.
- Order parts and coordinate with vendors to keep jobs moving.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas; properly use and care for shop tools and equipment.
- Follow direction from supervisors, collaborate well across the service department and store, and meet or exceed quality and productivity goals.
Core strengths you bring
HVAC / R systems knowledge and HVAC repair experience.Mechanical troubleshooting across diverse equipment types.Electrical repair skills, including 120 / 208 / 240 / 480 VAC systems.Customer communication
You will be the point of contact for updates and approvals, communicating in person, by phone, and via email to keep customers informed from intake through completion.
