Your OpportunityStantec's New England Transportation group has an immediate need for a highly motivated Senior Transportation Design Manager with 15+ years of experience working on mid-size to large roadway / highway / bridge design projects.

This position is flexible between our Burlington MA office and remote work. Our Burlington MA office at Blue Sky Center offers unrivaled amenities including an on-site fitness center, walking paths, secure bicycle storage, indoor and outdoor courts and games, golf simulator, caf, and EV charging stations.

The office is close to the Burlington Mall and Routes 3, 62 and 128 with ample on-site parking and plenty of lunch options nearby.

This is an excellent opportunity to pursue and manage progressive engineering projects of varying scale and complexity in Massachusetts and throughout New England.

You will oversee pursuits, technical employees, work planning, technical design management and oversight, project delivery, quality management, contract administration, change management, and risk management.

The ongoing success of our group will allow you to set the pace of your career.Your Key ResponsibilitiesContribute to initiatives to help advance our project design, operations, and business developmentMaintain and enhance our reputation with clients, approval agencies and industry professionals as an outstanding service providerEstablish project objectives, procedures, and performance standardsLead multi-disciplinary teams on projects from positioning to proposals, planning studies, feasibility through final designs, and construction servicesRepresent Stantec and the project design team as a technical leaderIdentify appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives.

Manage contract tasks, track, and manage costs and schedule, and implement measures necessary to stay on schedule and within budget.

Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslyLead by example with active support of internal policies and practices, including risk management, project management, and quality managementGrow internal and external networks to enhance Stantec reputation and identify additional talent to join our teamDevelop client relationships to facilitate project activitiesEstablish, maintain, and promote partnerships in project pursuits

Your Capabilities and Experience

Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressive engineering and project management experience on mid to large scale transportation projectsExperience with the role of deputy design manager, design manager, and or quality manager on mid to large scale projectsExperience leading the design and construction support of complex transportation projectsExperience developing, negotiating, and managing project scopes, schedules, and budgetsBusiness development experience requiredMarketing skills requiredAbility to lead, motivate, mentor, and develop a team of technical and professional staffAbility to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a dynamic and energetic environmentDesign-Build or other alterative project delivery experienceEducation and CredentialsBachelor's degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field.

Post graduate degree preferredMA Licensed Professional Engineer

Position will primarily work in an office setting; may require some field work.
