Position Summary
We are seeking a motivated Associate Attorney to join our Troy, MI office. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication and analytical skills, and a desire to learn and grow within a supportive team. This role focuses on achieving resolution of client issues through negotiation and litigation while maintaining the highest ethical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
- Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and other legal documents.
- Review case files, analyze facts and laws, and determine appropriate legal actions.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for clients throughout the litigation process.
- Research and interpret laws, rulings, and regulations; prepare legal opinions and case strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and case updates using proprietary case management software.
- Ensure compliance with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other applicable laws.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, opposing counsel, and court staff.
- Participate in professional development, training, and firm-sponsored learning opportunities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Michigan.Strong writing, research, and organizational skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.Commitment to professionalism, ethical standards, and client service excellence.Must successfully pass a background check, credit check, and drug screening.Compensation & Benefits
