About The Position

📝 Description :

Exciting locum opportunity for a Physician Assistant experienced in Cardiothoracic Surgery to join a top-performing surgical team in Lexington, KY . This position offers excellent hourly pay , flexible scheduling , and the chance to work on high-acuity cardiac and thoracic procedures alongside expert surgeons.

⚙️ Job Responsibilities :

First assist in CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy, and lung resection procedures.

Perform vein harvesting and chest tube placement .

Provide care in OR, ICU, and telemetry settings .

Conduct inpatient rounds, procedures, and post-op management .

Cover 1–2 call days per week and 1 weekend per month (7 AM Fri – 7 AM Mon) .

Job Requirements

🎓 Qualifications :

Board-Certified Physician Assistant with an active KY license (or eligible to obtain).

ACLS & BLS certifications required.

2+ years of surgical / CT experience preferred.

Clean malpractice record strongly preferred.

Must be skilled in first-assisting during cardiothoracic surgeries .

🕒 Working Hours :

Day shifts with on-call requirements.

1–2 call days / week and 1 weekend / month (7 AM–7 AM) .

Start Date : As soon as credentialed.
