Job Description
The Head Of Wealth Product, Investment Strategy And Trust owns responsibility for US Wealth's Banking and Investment Products, Investment Management and Brokerage functions, Chief Investment Office, Corporate & Personal Trust, Centralized Investment Management, Portfolio Management, and Capital Markets. The role includes leading as President of TD Private Client Wealth, LLC. TD Bank's Registered Investment Advisor and Broker Dealer.
Depth & Scope
Provides people management leadership by hiring the best talent, setting goals, developing staff, managing employee performance and compensation decisions, promoting teamwork and handling any / all disciplinary actions, as required Ensures the "One TD Voice" with regarding to the market outlook and Investment Management thought leadership Is responsible for all standards, supervision and regulatory compliance and oversight of all regulated activities (SEC, FINRA) President of US Broker-Dealer (Series 24) overseeing the securities business activities of all RIA and BD personnel ensuring compliance with Federal, State, SRO and Firm policies and mandates Works with internal partners including Wealth Products & Services, TD Asset Management, and TD Securities to ensure product suite architecture meets both client and field needs while mitigating risk and adhering to requisite regulatory and Firm policies and best practices Builds relationships with Third-Party asset managers and product manufacturers to ensure distribution channels are supporting TD field personnel related to the sale of securities and managed money products Represents firm at various public forums, industry groups, trade associations, etc. (SIFMA, Gartner, etc.) Ensures Investment Management portfolios for all clients (mass, mass affluent, high net worth and institutional) are appropriately constructed to achieve client objectives and compete well in the marketplace Ensures Brokerage solutions for all clients are available, appropriately constructed and competitive in the marketplace Ensures Corporate Trust solutions are available and integrated into the broader Wealth offering, meeting fiduciary standards and operational excellence Oversees Wealth Banking Products and services(e.g. security based lending, deposit solutions, sweep as a service) ensuring alignment with advisor and client needs and competitiveness in the marketplace Ensures Advisor Platforms support scalable, compliant, and seamless advisor and client experiences across all core channels. Centralized Investments Team Ensures delivery of current mandate for the Centralized Investments team and consider an expanded mandate to meet the needs of US Wealth's growing needs Provides Customized Portfolio Support for field and direct client interactions appropriate for segment. Provides Strategy support for complex client situations including, but not limited to, concentrated positions, tax efficient trading and transition support Participates and contributes to key Investment, Fiduciary and Trust Committees (Asset Allocation, US Implementation, Manager Research, WIROC, PRC, etc.) Provides affiliated Product Evaluation Leads Manager Research & Due Diligence, Portfolio Strategies and Implementation strategy and direction Leads Firm Managed Portfolio Strategies (TD Managed Portfolios, TD Automated Investing, etc.) Builds out appropriate advisor platforms, retirement services capabilities and thought leadership across segments Communicates effectively to all US Wealth partners and external COI's and media to represent the TD Global Wealth Brand Collaborates across business lines and borders to bring the global firm's expertise and insights to our clients that is relevant to the US client and within regulatory guidelines
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred 10+ Years of related Investment and Wealth Management experience FINRA Series 7, 24, 66 (or equivalent) FINRA accreditation required Must possess in-depth knowledge and experience in the areas of Modern Portfolio Theory, including but not limited to Asset Allocation, Manager Research and Portfolio Construction. Must possess in-depth knowledge and experience in brokerage solutions needed to profitably meet the needs of all client segments Must possess in-depth knowledge of investment and brokerage industry trends and be able to ensure that the firms evolving product platform meets Client, Firm and Field Personnel needs Extensive understanding of current compliance and regulatory issues related to US Securities and financial markets Success serving as a liaison with both internal and external partners and constituents. Must possess in-depth knowledge of and experience in wealth management, retirement and financial planning for all client segments and the ability to develop capabilities, tools and thought leadership to continue development in this area Must be able to think strategically, build teams, and be an agent of change Must possess ability to communicate effectively to all US Wealth partners and external COI's and media to represent the TD Global Wealth Brand Must possess ability to collaborate across business lines and borders to bring TD's global expertise and insights to our clients and partners In-depth knowledge of investment concepts, industry and practices, including understanding of domestic and international financial markets and related legal and regulatory guidelines Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
