Job description

The Teller is responsible for the following duties :

  • Welcomes and assists customers at the Teller line.
  • Accurately processes a variety of transactions including deposits and withdrawals.
  • Promptly investigates and resolves Teller errors.
  • Provides exceptional customer service (in-person, on the phone, or virtually) in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
  • Builds customer relationships, determines their needs, and recommends appropriate products and services.
  • Works as part of a team to address customer needs and accomplish branch goals.

In addition, Primary Responsibilities of a Teller include :

  • Follow all established bank policies and procedures.
  • Keep cash drawer within established limits by selling and buying cash as needed.
  • Process deposits and withdrawals, cash checks, issue Cashier's Checks, accept a variety of payments, process coin orders accurately, perform proof duties, balance cash vaults, scan and file appropriate documents.
  • Maintain a high degree of accuracy by balancing cash drawer daily. Keep cash overages / shortages within the acceptable standards.
  • Investigate and resolve Teller errors. Communicate to those affected.
  • Provide quality customer service in a friendly, professional, and timely manner.
  • Comply with regulations by completing Currency Transaction reports (CTR's).
  • Build customer relationships, making product and service referrals when appropriate.
  • Handle customer account inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Work as part of a team to address customer needs and accomplish branch goals.
  • Skillset & Experience :

    Effective communication when working with customers and / or employees

    Be involved in developing solutions to meet the needs of the customer and / or employees

    Flexibility to meet changing workload; highly self-motivated

    Be a team player and be respectful to all staff, customers, and prospects.

    Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and other applicable software preferred.

    High School Diploma or equivalent.

    Previous cash handling experience preferred.

    Previous banking experience preferred.

    3 to 5 years of customer service experience preferred.
