A day in this role
When the first shift starts, you’re the go-to problem solver for our fabrication floor and facility. You’ll open the day by checking PM schedules, walking high-priority equipment, and confirming safety interlocks are functioning. If a machine flags an issue, you’ll dive into mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic systems to diagnose quickly and safely. Between calls, you’ll relocate equipment or service drops, track consumables for lasers and turrets, and coordinate with contractors. Seasonal needs are part of your rhythm too—from snowplowing and salting in winter to mowing and landscaping in summer. Before the day ends, you’ll brief supervisors on abnormal conditions, align on parts ordering and repair timing, and leave the yard and shop orderly.
