Construction General Laborer

TSW Utility Solutions, Inc. is a full-service underground utility contractor that focuses on the central Indiana market. We specialize in underground water and wastewater industry services. Are you an experienced laborer with a passion for outdoor work?

We are currently looking for Construction General Laborers with experience working in water and sewer to join our team in Indianapolis, IN. In this role, you’ll work alongside a Lead Groundman, Foreman, or independently to keep projects running smoothly and safely. If you enjoy hands-on work, learning new skills, and contributing to a team, we want to hear from you.

The starting pay is $20.00-$26.00 per hour contingent upon experience. We are currently offering limited-time sign-on and referral bonuses to all new hires who meet the requirements outlined in our sign-on and referral bonus programs.

What You’ll Do

• Assist with installing trench and excavation safety systems to maintain a safe work environment.
• Help set up and install underground utility pipelines for water, sewer, and storm lines.
• Support testing and sampling of installed utility pipelines to ensure quality and performance.
• Familiarize yourself with Indiana’s no-dig laws and the 811 process to help us stay compliant.
• Maintain general housekeeping, erosion control, and tool upkeep to keep the site organized and efficient.
• Operate equipment such as pipe saws, pumps, and impact wrenches to assist with project needs.
• Assist in setting up and maintaining traffic control systems to ensure smooth operations.
• Drive the crew truck to and from the job site when necessary.
• Take on additional tasks as needed to support the crew and project.

What we need

• At least 2-3 years of water and sanitary pipe experience
• Knowledge of pipeline construction methods, techniques, and tools.
• Strong communication skills to read, write, and follow verbal instructions..
• Understanding of traffic control setup and maintenance.
• Familiarity with General Groundman, Top Man, and Pipelayer duties.
• Valid Indiana Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
• OSHA 10-hour card (or the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment).
• Ability to perform tasks that require sitting, bending, standing, walking, and climbing; Ability to lift over 50 pounds when required.
• Primarily outdoor work in various weather conditions; Occasional indoor work in a shop environment.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience in a related field.
• At least one year of related pipeline experience, including trenching and shoring.
