Overview
The Lab Technician will support projects and lab work requests in a manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate is efficient in following established SOPs, performing routine laboratory testing, and making minor adjustments to existing product lines to improve performance or application efficiency.
Purpose / Key Objective
The Lab Technician is a highly motivated, quality-focused individual with strong problem-solving and customer-oriented thinking. This position supports ongoing product maintenance and growth by executing laboratory work, preparing accurate samples, and performing application and testing methods according to defined procedures.
The role requires a solid understanding of formulations, application techniques, and manufacturing processes. The technician collaborates closely with production teams to follow batch instructions, ensure accurate results, and maintain all safety standards in the manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all site, laboratory, and manufacturing safety guidelines and policies.
- Fully participate in safety processes, including audits, safety meetings, and promoting safe practices among peers.
Laboratory & Application Work
Select appropriate testing methods to accurately replicate customer application conditions.Follow batch instructions and SOPs to produce precise samples for evaluation.Make minor adjustments to formulations to improve product performance while staying within established guidelines.Documentation & Communication
Maintain detailed and accurate records of testing, formulations, and lab work.Communicate progress, issues, and results clearly to team members.Keep the laboratory workspace, tools, and processes organized and well-maintained.Contribution & Teamwork
Demonstrate commitment to deadlines, quality metrics, and business objectives.Work independently on assigned tasks while actively collaborating with team members.Proactively identify efficient methods to complete tasks and support continuous improvement.Prerequisites / Qualifications
Associate degree or Technical Certification in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Materials Science, or related field.3+ years of experience in chemistry, coatings, or a manufacturing laboratory environment.Ability to work independently with clear instructions and defined objectives.Pragmatic, proactive, quick learner, and self-motivated.Strong commitment to accuracy, quality, and on-time delivery.Strong team player with proven collaboration skills.Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
