Overview
Under the supervision of the Site Supervisor, the Assistant Site Supervisor – Expanded Learning Programs (ELP) is responsible for assisting the Site Supervisor with the overall program management, participant supervision, program planning, and implementation of academic enrichment activities. The Assistant Site Supervisor will help manage safe, accurate, and efficient participant sign in / out procedures, and provide coaching and support for Youth Leader staff members. The Assistant Site Supervisor position requires high energy, dedication, patience, good communication skills, and a strong desire to mentor youth, strengthen families, and serve the community.

Assist in the planning, management, and implementation of program activities in accordance with the goals and policies of the ASES / 21st CCLC grant, school district, collaborative partners, and the YMCA of San Diego CountySupervise program participants, ensuring their guidance and safety at all timesProvide positive behavior guidance that supports the developmental, social-emotional, and physical needs of all studentsServe as lead staff of the expanded learning program in the absence of the Site SupervisorActively recruit students and market expanded learning activities to ensure program capacityCollaborate with school and district personnel to align high quality academic activities and to develop and maintain positive relationshipsAssist with the on-site management of attendance data and procedures, program documents, student files, and other administrative duties as assignedPerform daily duties that ensure space is properly maintained, organized, clean, and safeVisual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situationPhysical ability to lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activitiesTravel Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older and possess a high school diploma / GEDOne year experience in child and youth development, education, or comparable setting requiredExperience with TK to 8th graders preferred.Professional experience working in an after school program preferred.Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical incidents and the physical ability to act in an emergency situation.Physical ability to lead activities such as sports, games, academic assistance, assemblies, transitions, and other program activities.Pre-Hire Contingencies
