POSITION OVERVIEW

Performs molecular genetics assays preliminary data analysis, and general laboratory maintenance within the Pharmacogenomics / MassArray pipeline

ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Use molecular genetic techniques to perform laboratory procedures within the Pharmacogenomics and MassArray pipeline.
  • Work with Agena MassArray and 3730XL Capillary Electrophoresis instrumentation to complete laboratory assays.
  • Assist with reagent preparation, instrument maintenance, assay development, and troubleshooting.
  • Maintaining records, performing sample tracking, and creating assay plate orders.
  • Follow laboratory procedures and policies, including quality control and quality system activities, and documenting appropriately all records, deviations, and corrective actions as required.
  • Review MassArray data, making manual calls as needed, and exporting data for reporting.
  • Assist with training of other laboratory personnel.
  • Assist with other laboratory production pipelines as necessary.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 4- year Bachelor degree or higher a Biological Science or related field.
  • Previous experience in a molecular biology or clinical laboratory environment with demonstrated proficiency in laboratory techniques.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and precision.
  • Computer literacy of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
