Be the primary production partner across machining and assembly at HYCO Alabama—driving continuous improvement, embedding safety and quality, and serving operators on the shop floor just as effectively as you plan from the office.

What you’ll own
- Design / implement / review manufacturing processes for safety, efficiency, and quality.
- Evaluate production systems and optimize workflows to deliver high-quality output at lower cost.
- Improve quality control processes through analysis and targeted recommendations.
- Analyze methods, schedules, and production data; produce reports that inform future requirements and capacity.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Review labor, material, and other production costs; align them with schedules and demand to support management decisions.
- Plan workflow, equipment placement, and space requirements for maximum efficiency.
- Build long- and short-term project plans with clear milestones and deadlines.
- Define success criteria; recommend best-path options when multiple solutions exist.
- Coordinate multi-unit projects so teams stay in sync.
- Adjust targets / timelines as priorities or financing shift.
- Lead project post-mortems and create recommendations reports.
- Develop plant automation solutions (hardware and software) and an integrated capability roadmap.
- Oversee product construction and testing to ensure efficient completion.
- Collaborate with SMEs to develop a robust process automation framework.
- Research internal / external trends and best practices to strengthen automation initiatives.
- Partner with manufacturing engineering, production, and assembly so design and quality standards are implemented.
- Champion a safety-first culture at all times.
What you’ll bring
Proficiency in plant layout design for efficient material and people flow.Strong organization, planning, and deadline management.Familiarity with drawing systems such as AutoCad or Visio.Tenacity and structured problem-solving to see projects through.Experience with standard work, time studies, and Lean principles.Ability to work within and lead cross-functional problem-solving teams.Clear communication across operators, supervisors, and leadership.Understanding of tooling applications to reduce cycle times while meeting quality specifications.Knowledge of machine designs and applications.Experience creating and updating routers for production.CNC programming experience required ; FeatureCam knowledge is a plus.Excellent analytical and problem-solving capability.Education & experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.3+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing setting.Demonstrated Lean application including time studies to measure improvement.Proficient in Microsoft Office.Tools & tech
