Quality Lab Supervisor
DuPont is seeking Quality Lab Supervisor for our Healthcare Industries Materials Site (HIMS) in Hemlock, Michigan. The HIMS plant produces a wide range of silicone-based materials used in the healthcare industry.
The Quality Lab Supervisor will supervise a staff of lab technicians. They will ensure adherence to established operations and safety policies and procedures, maintain standards in the areas of housekeeping, safety, attendance, operational discipline, process safety management, and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
They will be responsible for communications up and down the line and for assuring that communications from team members are accurate and complete. The Quality Lab Supervisor will also be responsible for responding to personnel, operational and safety and environmental incident and ensuring work is completed in accordance with production schedules.
Responsibilities :
Ops Strategy & Planning
- Develop and establish Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) for the teams.
- Effectively communicate and implement site directions and messages to team ensuring the work alignment is clear.
- Interpret short to mid-term area plans, including improvement activities, and organize team members to execute the plans, ensuring availability of equipment, labor and materials.
Delivery
Ensure work is completed by the published schedule.Coordinate equipment readiness for maintenance activities as per published schedule; including, equipment cleanliness, decontamination, lockouts, and general work permits.Productivity
Coordinate contract work within area.Coordinate daily work schedules and assign duties to maintain adequate staff for effective performance of activities and response to fluctuating workloads.Facilitate Visual Performance Management activities with team members including any problem solving.Review work throughout the work process and at completion to ensure that it has been performed properly.Coordinate Autonomous Maintenance activities and foster 5S philosophy within the team.Ensure employees follow established Maintenance Work Management Process; especially, early work identification.Interface with Maintenance Coordinator, Maintenance or Production FLS, Planning Groups, Manufacturing Technical Engineers etc. on priorities and needs to ensure effective execution of work.Safety, Health, Environmental & Core Values

Leads or participates in investigation of quality non-conformances for the Area and determines appropriate corrective action.Ensure employees comply with established Standard Operating Procedures and Standard Operating Conditions including production-related components of a quality system such as ISO.Cost
Monitor and adjust controllable item costs of manufacturing, for example, overtime, operating supplies and waste reduction.Morale, Talent Mgmt & Capability Building

Bachelor degree in Analytical Sciences or related disciplineMinimum of 2 years experience preferred in manufacturing or technical service which includes exposure to SHE, Production, Quality, Maintenance and Continuous improvement systems and toolsComputer knowledge and skills in applications such as Microsoft Office and SAPExcellent written and oral communication skills and experienced in cross-functional team buildingStrong project management, organization, and prioritization skillsStrong data management and analytical skillsPreferred Qualifications :
Previous supervisory experience; demonstrated competency in building teams, coaching, championing change, developing staffing modelsLaboratory experience; in plant or R&D settingsSix sigma green belt certifiedKnowledge of FDA regulations
