Job Summary

The Program Manager will play a pivotal role in building out and then leading the PMO function for an assigned corporate function (, Human Resources, Finance, Information Technology, Procurement, etc.

The role will be instrumental in transforming and elevating the assigned corporate function at Wayne Sanderson Farms. The role will collaborate with functional Leadership team to ensure the successful planning, implementation, and completion of specific functional programs, projects and initiatives.

Job Responsibilities

  • Leads PMO within key function to prioritize, plan, and execute on strategic initiatives and provide analytical insights to business leaders.
  • Works directly with the senior functional leaders to develop project prioritization roadmap and strategy to execute on portfolio.
  • Implements project management software for utilization assigned corporate function.
  • Evaluates and presents recommendations for structural improvements that align with our business objectives, ensuring that our workforce is agile and responsive to evolving needs.
  • Develops project governance for function, including intake process, prioritization standardization, executive reporting, and execution frameworks to maximize value of initiatives.
  • Partners with HRIS to plan and execute strategic technology enhancements and implementations for Workday.
  • Implements and leverages PMO products & offerings to provide insights to senior leadership for capacity, capability, culture, and performance of our workforce.
  • Consults with senior leaders across the organization to solve critical workforce challenges, leveraging analytical insights to drive operational execution.
  • Drives change management initiatives related to transforming and elevating the corporate function with facilitating seamless transitions and adoption of new processes.
  • Crafts and executes strategic project plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and facilitating successful project delivery.
  • Manages project / assignment / tasks and coordinate all activities, including tracking progress, resolving issues, and maintaining project documentation.
  • Collaborates with project team members, department heads, and external partners to gather project / assignment requirements, establish objectives, and ensure effective communication throughout the project and responsibilities lifecycle.
  • Prepares regular reports and updates for functional leadership and senior management, highlighting project status, milestones, and key performance indicators.
  • Is able to formulate, affect, interpret, or implement management policies or operating practices that are directly related to Program Management responsibilities.
  • Carries out major assignments in conducting the operations of the business that include project planning, project execution and project completion of significant functional projects.
  • Provides consultation or expert advice to management regarding best practices, program recommendations, vendor recommendations, etc.
  • Responsible for carrying out both long and short-term program planning objectives.
  • Uses independent judgement to make decisions on matters of significance to the company, to include key software tools, vendor selection, large project budgeting, etc.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Manages and leads a portfolio of programs and projects.
  • Proficiency in leveraging the capabilities of Workday strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in using a project management software (Monday, smart sheets) to complete resource load, monitor project financials, and manage projects effectively at that same time providing executive level report outs via a dashboard.
  • Strong change management skills with the ability to communicate and mobilize teams through change.
  • Demonstrates sense of curiosity, urgency, and results / service orientation with a high degree of flexibility, adaptability.

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize projects, planning skills, and a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain a productive and committed work effort, meeting deadlines and managing workload.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administrations, or a related field.
  • Agile, Scrum and / or PMP certification.
  • Function-specific certifications preferred (, HR Program Manager - SHRM, HRCI).

Experience

  • The position typically requires a minimum of seven plus (7+) years of increasingly responsible, directly related experience during which knowledge, skills and abilities applicable to the position were demonstrated.
  • Prior experience acting as Program / Project Manager is required.
