Swedish Medical Center is looking for a Security Officer to work in Security Deployment at Swedish Shared Services in Edmonds, WA.

We currently have part-time and full-time opportunties with varying schedules / shifts.

• The Security Officer provides a safe and secure environment for the patients, visitors, staff and property of Swedish Medical Center.
• Due to the continuous public contact of the position the highest level of customer service skills is essential. Security Officers conduct random patrols of Swedish Medical Center / Swedish Edmond property, respond to and investigate security incidents, report safety hazards, and appropriately document actions and observations made during the shift.*

In this position you will have the following responsibilities :

• Remain observant and alert at all times.
• Report all incidents and hazards appropriately in written reports and in passing information between shifts. Notifies supervisor and / or lead of any significant incidents that might impact department or hospital operations as soon as possible.

Completes required documentation in a timely manner.

• Demonstrate the highest standard of calm and professional customer service and provides the highest degree of assistance in responding to the needs of patients, visitors and staff.
• Work independently and resolve problems appropriately.
• Think quickly and formulates an effective plan for dealing with unexpected situations. Is able to de-escalate potentially dangerous situations.

Qualifications :

Required qualifications for this position include :

• Customer service experience
• Basic Security Officer Certification through International Association of Healthcare Security and required within 9 months of employment
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers required within 30 days of hire from American Heart Association (AHA) or Military Training Network (MTN)
• Successful completion of TASER training and certification within 9 months of employment with annual re-certification

Preferred qualifications for this position include :

• Associate's Degree
• Healthcare security experience
