Job Opportunity

We are a mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP); building automation; and industrial piping contractor. Our team offers a variety of MEP and process piping services, including design-build engineering for new construction and renovation, installation and specialty construction, maintenance, and air balancing, start-up, and energy efficiency services. DeBra-Kuempel combines the expertise of two of the tri-state's oldest and most innovative companies, providing mechanical and electrical services to Cincinnati, Dayton, Columbus, Evansville, Lexington, Louisville, Eastern Kentucky and the surrounding areas.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain a strong professional network within the Columbus market, targeting industries such as Food & Beverage, Healthcare, Manufacturing, and Data Centers.
  • Leverage company-provided B2B databases and personal industry relationships to generate qualified leads and drive new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including Service, Special Projects, Construction, and Controlsto manage and convert leads into revenue-generating projects.
  • Promote and implement EMCOR National Agreements within the assigned territory.
  • Represent DeBra-Kuempel at Columbus Chamber of Commerce events and trade shows to enhance brand visibility and foster strategic partnerships.
  • Apply active listening and consultative selling techniques to identify customer needs and deliver tailored solutions.
  • Prepare compelling proposals that emphasize value and support successful deal closure.
  • Maintain consistent follow-up throughout the sales cycle and utilize available technical resources to support customer engagement.
  • Cross-sell capabilities from other DeBra-Kuempel offices, such as BIM services from Cincinnati or shop fabrication from Dayton.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and customer interactions using CRM tools specific to the Columbus market.
  • Conduct market analysis and recommend strategic adjustments to meet growth targets and stay competitive.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or Construction Management preferred.
  • Minimum of 35 years of experience in mechanical industry sales, contract sales, or related fields.
  • Proven track record of at least 3 years in direct outside sales, preferably within HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing / Piping, Service, or Controls.
  • Familiarity with the Healthcare and Commercial property sectors is highly desirable.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage all levels of an organization in a proactive, team-oriented manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to align sales planning with pipeline development to achieve revenue growth.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of energy, professionalism, and goal orientation.
  • Reliable attendance and a commitment to dependability are essential.
  • Professional appearance and a collaborative, team-player attitude required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel) and willingness to learn additional software as needed.
  • Experience using ZoomInfo or similar B2B databases preferred.
  • Ability to track and manage opportunities using Excel or CRM platforms.
  • Must be able to build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • This position may require up to 50% local travel to meet customers, attend meetings, entertain, etc.
