What will the work look like for me?

Your schedulewill vary and willinclude some nights and weekends depending on business needs.
Most of your work will be Monday -Friday during normal business hours.
Westrive for work / life balance. This positionrequires working 10+ weekends a year tosupport events.
Some last-minutescheduling happens to meet ourcustomers’needswhenan unexpected repair oreventh happens.

Onsite Support

Providing service, installation, or support during an event at a customer site.

Providing on-site technical and maintenance services for Control Systems and Display Systems.

Leveraging your knowledge by training our Service Partners.

Regularly participating in technical training on new and different products and systems to advance your technical knowledge to support Daktronics Customers.

Actively creating and updating knowledge base articles for internal / external use.

Perform other duties as assigned or needed to support the efforts of Daktronics.

Remote Support

Providing technical over-the-phone support to internal and external customers.

Responding to customers’ request for technical support primarily through incoming and proactive outbound calls.

Providing software application installation / configuration support along with “how-to” assistance.

Troubleshooting and solving basic to sophisticated hardware and software technical issues.

Where is this opportunity located?

Your office will be at your home, located within 30 miles of Chicago or Bloomington, Illinois.

You will travel to customer sites in your Daktronics vehicle within your regional area. You may also travel nationwide or internationally depending on business need.

Onsite work can vary by location and from day to day. One day you might work inside a control room, the next day you might be outside on a lift or ladder working with a video display.

You are paid for all your working time, including travel time to and from site.

When you aren’t working on a customer site, you will work from your home office to remotely support our customers.

What are the pay and perks?

The typical hiring range for this position is $30.00 to $38.00 per hour based on the location of Greater Chicago, IL area. Additional $15 per hour premium for assigned onsite service work performed outside of 6 : 00am – 5 : 00pm Monday through Friday. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experiences, location, and applicable local legislation.

Provided work assets include a company vehicle, tools, laptop, phone, field service clothing (shirts and jacket) and safety equipment.

To support safety and comfort in the field, a $150 per annual stiped is provided for work pants.

Qualifications

To be considered for Audio Video Field Service Engineer, we require the following :

Minimum of an associate degree plus relevant experience. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Preferred majors include Electronics Engineering Technology, Computer Engineering Technology, A / V Broadcast, or similar program. Will consider non-technical bachelor’s degree if applicant also has previous experience demonstrating technical learning ability.

Must be able to :

Communicate effectively in a variety of settings.

Display a can-do attitude in good and bad times.

Effectively exercise discretion and independent judgment.

Strong computer skills : Internet navigation, word processing, spreadsheets, and Daktronics internal programs.

Work effectively as a team member assisting when and where needed.

Comfortable working from a home office location.

Must be able to get a passport.

Able to work at heights or from a ladder and able to carry ladder / tools / parts from vehicle to work site.

Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 45 pounds.

Ability to work in a variety of environments, including cold / hot weather, small spaces.

Must be able to work nights and weekends based on pre-determined business need.

Ability to travel by air and ground. Valid driver’s license. Must be able to meet and maintain Daktronics Qualified Driver status. Motor vehicle records will be checked.

Fluent in English, written and verbal.
