Assistant Director

Under the supervision of the Program Director, the Assistant Director is responsible for meeting the demands of the program while leading a team of case managers, and social workers that will meet the community needs, providing high quality services in accordance with regulations. The Assistant Director will also have a caseload of 20 clients, providing case management and assistance needs to individuals. In the absence of the Program Director, Assistant Director will assume the responsibilities of the position.

Must have a at minimum a Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) or related field and be experienced working with a diverse population; 1 to 2 years' experience in the health and human service field, including services in long-term services and supports, and supervision of staff. Knowledge of resource and benefit programs. Excellent organizational, communication, outreach, and advocacy skills and the ability to work as a team. Flexibility to work some evening hours and weekends. The Assistant Director must have proficiency in Google suites, Microsoft office and the ability to build reports and analyze data. He / She / They must possess excellent time management, attention to detail, organizational and communication skills and maintain the integrity of the organization at all times.

Bilingual Spanish or Cantonese

Supervises case managers, social workers and serves as a Task Supervisor to MSW interns to ensure that overall program operations are in compliance with contract requirements.

Provision of the Core Functions (process of intake, information and referral services, screenings, application assistance, person-centered planning, and care transitions)

Weekly supervision and case reviews to identify strategies, work plans, goals, and additional community resources.

Identify and report any barriers / trends, and develop strategies to address these issues.

Develop and implement staff meetings and professional development.

Carry and manage a caseload and provide case assistance while providing overall crisis intervention and clinical risk management.

Conduct ongoing outreach to identify NORC participants.

Maintain a working knowledge of community resources and current trends in social services.

Make referrals and monitor linkages to appropriate services.

Establish and build effective relationships with community partners.

Ensure data entry, documentation, and reports are maintained and submitted per contract requirements.

Monitor contract compliance and outcomes by implementing continuous monitoring systems of program activities.

Represent program and agency at various meetings.

Contribute to the submission of grants, proposals, reports, etc.

Be available to work on either Thanksgiving or Christmas, to be decided in consultation with the Director, as well as other holidays and during special events.

Participate in community-building activities sponsored by program and agency and encourage participants to support these activities.

Perform other program-related tasks as assigned.

Typical office setting that may require occasional travel between multiple sites consistent with a community center environment.

Occasionally lift and / or move up to 25 pounds. Frequently read printed materials and computer screens. Frequently operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment.
