Financial Consultant

Reporting to the Finance Manager, System Clinical Departments, Ambulatory Operations & Behavioral Health Services, the Financial Consultant will support the operational finance activities of System Clinical Departments (Pharmacy, Pathology, Radiology, Emergency Medicine, Surgical Services and Anesthesiology) at Henry Ford Health (HF Health).

Under minimal supervision of the Manager, the Financial Consultant will perform and / or manage work of a generally complex nature aimed at assisting in decision making and / or improving the financial performance of HF Health.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities :

• Manage complex financial reporting and financial projects, involving coordination of multiple participants and / or teams.
• Research and review of financial data in preparation for presentation of financial statements to executive and / or clinical teams and assist in identifying issues / opportunities to address.
• Verify financial and key volume data for reasonableness and identify issues as they arise.
• Preparation of variance analysis explanations for month-to-date and / or year-to-date variances.
• Analysis of financial data for trends to help determine potential financial outcome.
• Work with operations teams to develop and refine scope of new growth initiatives.
• Perform cost benefit analysis utilizing our cost systems and other analytics tools.
• Assist operations with short- and long-term strategic growth.
• Evaluate the financial impact of previously implemented projects to determine if financial targets are met.
• Provide financial support for presentations, committees and business reviews for various levels of leadership.
• Identify opportunities for growth and / or cost savings within the System Clinical Departments.
• Assist in developing annual operating and capital budgets.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and presentations, as required
• Other duties, as assigned
