Textile Design Assistant
Serena & Lily is excited to welcome a passionate Textile Design Assistant to our dynamic Design Team at our headquarters in Sausalito, CA. This role is essential in ensuring that our textile developments maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and timely execution throughout the process from concept to production. You will be reporting to the Senior Designer. Collaborative and hands-on work is a vital aspect of this position.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Collaborate on the development of various textile categories.
- Create detailed design specifications for seasonal collections, including bedding, bath, beach, and other soft goods.
- Produce scaled renderings using Photoshop for compelling visual presentations.
- Translate creative concepts into precise and technically accurate specifications.
- Develop layouts and adapt original artwork according to textile product needs.
- Build and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical specifications in Backbone PLM.
- Work closely with factories and agents to guarantee product quality and consistency during the development cycle.
- Review lab dips, strike-offs, and development samples with a keen eye for detail, ensuring adherence to specifications and coherence with existing product lines.
- Manage product development submissions and maintain an organized fabric library.
- Assist with seasonal assortment reviews and presentation setups.
- Identify innovative opportunities in production techniques, materials, and design processes.
- Research new ideas, materials, and trims to inspire and support seasonal concepts.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to guide product direction.
- Stay organized and maintain awareness of calendar deadlines and milestone changes.
QUALIFICATIONS :
BFA in Textile Design, Fashion Design, or a related field.1-3 years of experience in textile design, fashion design, or product development.Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality, capable of producing precise technical specs and evaluating colors effectively.A quick learner and self-starter, comfortable seeking help when needed and utilizing the right resources to complete tasks.Highly organized, thriving in fast-paced environments while managing multiple projects simultaneously and anticipating next steps.A strong problem solver, adaptable in a dynamic environment.An effective listener, able to follow directions and ask for clarification when necessary.A team player, eager to assist with any task.Ability to build strong, respectful relationships across functions.COMPENSATION :
The anticipated starting base pay for this role ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 per year, depending on experience, education, and skill level.Employees and their families can benefit from medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance upon participation. Enrollment in our company 401k plan is also available. Full-time employees accrue twenty-one days of PTO and receive seven paid holidays in their first year with us.
