Assistant Nurse Manager, GI Diagnostic Center

Job Summary : The Assistant Nurse Manager of the GI Diagnostic Center (GIDC) is a supportive role to the Surgical Services Nurse Manager and staff. This role has 24 / 7 accountability with a focus on improving and sustaining positive patient outcomes, the patient experience, facilitating patient throughput, staff engagement, operations, fiscal, and change management. In addition, it will be a requirement for this individual to maintain basic nursing skills as required by their specialty. The individual must demonstrate basic competence in clinical, ethical, and legal aspects surrounding the provision of patient care. In the absence of the Nurse Manager, the Assistant Nurse Manager will assume full oversight and responsibilities for their assigned unit / s.

Sinai Hospital's Division of Gastroenterology offers a full range of diagnostic tests and therapeutic care options including full endoscopic services. Our Endoscopy Center uses the latest endoscopic equipment in performing all recognized GI procedures and evaluation techniques. The center is the principal site of GI diagnostic and therapeutic work including endoscopy and motility studies. All elective GI diagnostic evaluations both endoscopic and non-endoscopic are performed in the GI Diagnostic Center.

Minimum Requirements :

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required
• At least 3 years of nursing experience in the OR setting with progressive leadership experience (charge, precepting, etc.) with GIDC specific experience required
• Maryland Registered Nurse License (RN)
• American Heart Association BLS Certification
• PALS & ACLS within 6 months of hire (if applicable)
• Must be a member of a Professional Organization
