Lead Veterinary Technician

• Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Lead Veterinary Technician to join our team at Reston Animal Hospital in Reston, VA. In this role, you will play a vital part in providing high-quality medical care to animals while supporting our veterinarians in various procedures and treatments. You will also be guiding our other technicians as well as being responsible for overseeing daily work flow, mentoring fellow technicians, and adherence to hospital protocol.

• Responsibilities
• Provide hands-on training and support to new and existing veterinary technicians
• Oversee and coordinate daily technician duties to ensure efficient patient care and workflow
• Monitor and maintain high standards of technical skills and patient handling
• Serve as a liaison between technicians, doctors, and management promote clear communication
• Lead by example in maintaining a positive, team oriented culture and professional work ethic
• Requirements
• LVT / RVT or eligible for license
• 3+ years experiences as a veterinary technician, preferably in a leadership or mentoring role
• Proficient in core skills including venipuncture, IV catheter placement,, anesthesia monitoring, surgical prep, and dental cleanings
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members.
• Familiarity with veterinary software (Avimark)

Pay : $26.00 - $29.00 per hour
