LaSalle Network is hiring a Patient Access Specialist to support a 3-month leave coverage at one of Detroit's leading hospitals. This fully onsite Patient Access Specialist role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment, communicates with clarity, and enjoys being the first point of contact for patients. With immediate start dates and a tight-knit team, this Patient Access Specialist opportunity is perfect for candidates who want to make an impact quickly. Compensation: $18$20/hour Benefits: Medical, dental and vision insurance offered Location: Detroit, MI Work Model: Fully onsite, three 12-hour shifts per week (11 a.m.11 p.m.)

What's the Job?

• Serve as the first point of contact for patients in person and via phone
• Manage high-volume inbound calls and schedule appointments/procedures across multiple sites
• Coordinate with clinical departments to ensure protocol adherence
• Enter patient demographics, billing and insurance data with accuracy
• Educate patients on prep instructions for procedures
• Communicate co-pay and deductible details clearly
• Maintain updates with clinical staff regarding patient status
• Work with medical staff to maximize scheduling efficiency
• Navigate multiple systems, including Epic EMR and MyChart

What's Needed?

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum 1 year call center or healthcare support experience
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced hospital environment
• Proficiency toggling between multiple systems/screens
• Knowledge of medical terminology
• Epic EMR experience required; MyChart/in-basket experience preferred
• Polished, empathetic and patient-centric communication style
